Forgiveness

Welcome to the second collaborative book, a new journey to positive psychology and a new way of being. This book came about through my amazing healer and mentor, Reanne Goes. A special heartfelt acknowledgement to her work on forgiveness and opening my heart and soul to be released from the heavy energy I was holding on to. I will take you on a journey right now into my deeper awareness of forgiveness.

My forgiveness journey has been an interesting one that people can relate to. For so many years, I have been grateful and giving words of gratitude to be where I am now. I have said words of gratitude to my ex-husband for the gift he gave me; the lessons I learnt, and the person I am today. My work has helped many women learn about boundaries, self-awareness, standards, and expectations in a relationship for self and with others. The end result is better relationships with self and others.

I think the first step is to understand that forgiveness does not exonerate the perpetrator. Forgiveness liberates the victim. It’s a gift you give yourself.

For me forgiveness was one of the most difficult things to tackle. I had been through a lot. I know now that it was the greatest gift I have ever given myself and I am sure that when you are able to do this with certainty for yourself – your life will become infinitely better for you.

Forgiveness is an opening of a new door to release “shit” that you have been holding onto for way too long and forgiveness doesn’t have to be verbal or reciprocated but it needs to be felt and acknowledged by YOU.

Forgiveness is released. It lets the pressure out of a pressure valve. So cathartic, so surreal & places your heart where it’s meant to be.

When I think about forgiveness – there is much research looking at types of forgiveness, reasons for forgiveness, levels of forgiveness and what forgiveness is not.

To me, forgiveness is the ultimate of self-love; it’s a powerful tool freeing me of, debts that can never be repaid nor deeds undone. Forgiveness changed my life and me for the better. Decisions to forgive can have ripple effects far beyond ourselves. Healthy Relationships aren’t possible without forgiveness. Forgiveness and humility are inseparable. Forgiveness enabled me to discover who I really was. Without forgiveness in my life, I wouldn’t be here.
